Use your financial model with confidence. Here is what your purchase includes, how you can use it in your business or client work, and how to get help.

Your purchase at a glance
Use and customize
Use the purchased model for your own business and multiple projects. Change inputs, edit formulas, and keep working copies. Your paid template license has no recurring fee.
Client work is welcome
Use models in paid consulting and deliver customized, editable client workbooks for the client's internal use. No separate client license is required for those deliverables.
Help with file problems
Download assistance and review of original-file errors are included. Report a material file problem within 30 days; if we cannot resolve it, we will refund the affected product or bundle. See Section 4.
Please keep the underlying templates out of resale listings, public downloads, and AI training datasets. The full terms below explain the permissions, restrictions, and refund conditions.
These terms are between you and Jason Varner, doing business as SmartHelping ("SmartHelping," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover smarthelping.com and the spreadsheet templates, financial models, calculators, documentation, and included updates you obtain from us or an authorized seller (the "Materials").
By purchasing, downloading, or using the Materials after these terms have been presented to you, you agree to them. If purchasing for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it. A separate signed agreement governs custom services or other rights to the extent it addresses the same subject.
1. Your template license
After payment, you receive a nonexclusive license to use and customize the purchased Materials for yourself or the single business that purchased them. The license continues without a recurring license fee unless terminated under Section 10.
- Use the model repeatedly: work on multiple businesses, investments, scenarios, and projects for your own purposes or permitted client engagements.
- Make it your own: change inputs, formulas, layouts, and assumptions to suit your work, and make reasonable backup and working copies.
- Share your findings: provide client-specific or business-specific reports, charts, projections, PDFs, screenshots, and presentations to clients, lenders, investors, partners, and advisers.
Sharing outputs is permitted even when they reflect the model's calculations or layout, provided they are shared as analysis rather than as a substitute template product. A model's technical limits and supported software remain those described on its product page.
2. Teams, consultants, and client deliverables
Your employees and contractors may use the Materials on your behalf for your licensed work. Keep access limited to those people; their access does not give them a separate license for unrelated work.
Consultants may use a purchased model for multiple paying clients and deliver editable workbooks. A permitted client workbook is prepared for a specific client's business or project using that client's inputs or assumptions. You may charge for your analysis, customization, and consulting services without a separate SmartHelping client-license fee.
The client may retain, update, and use that delivered workbook internally for its business or project. You and the client may also share it privately with lenders, investors, partners, and advisers who need it to evaluate or support that business or project. Tell recipients that the underlying template may not be redistributed, resold, or used to provide template-based services to other clients.
This permission does not cover handing out blank or general-purpose templates, distributing a template collection, or selling a lightly edited template as a standalone product. Bulk template access for separate companies, classrooms, memberships, or franchise networks requires a separate written license. Contact SmartHelping if you need that arrangement.
3. Ownership and redistribution
You own your business data and independently created content. SmartHelping retains its rights in the underlying Materials and their protectable content, including documentation, original layouts, and model structure ("Template Content"). Purchasing a license does not transfer those ownership rights.
Except for the uses expressly permitted here or in a separate written license, you may not:
- Resell, sublicense, give away, or publicly upload the Materials or reusable Template Content, including modified copies.
- Make the Materials available through an unauthorized shared drive, marketplace, template library, membership, or download service.
- Copy Template Content into a competing template, template collection, or automated product offered to others.
- Remove existing copyright or license notices from the underlying workbook. You may add your own branding to permitted client deliverables while retaining those notices.
These restrictions do not prevent you from applying general financial knowledge or creating your own work independently without copying protected Template Content.

What you receive
The product page and checkout identify the price, file formats, supported software, delivery method, and included features. Digital downloads are provided through the delivery method shown at purchase. If you cannot access your files, contact us with your order details.
Help with the original file
Your purchase includes download assistance and review of suspected errors in the original supplied workbook. Please identify the model, your software version, the affected sheet or cell, and the steps that reproduce the issue. Avoid sending confidential information through the general contact form.
We will review reported original-file errors and, where confirmed, work to provide a correction, reasonable workaround, or replacement at no additional charge. New features, custom model changes, individual financial advice, and repair of customer modifications are separate services unless expressly included in your purchase.
30-day file-problem policy: Report a material delivery problem or a reproducible error that prevents the original file from substantially functioning as described within 30 days of purchase. Allow us a reasonable opportunity to fix it. If we cannot resolve the problem within a reasonable time, we will refund the purchase price of the affected product or bundle. A full bundle refund ends the license to the entire refunded bundle.
Otherwise, payments are nonrefundable once the Materials have been accessed or downloaded. Changing your plans, deciding you no longer need the model, or requesting features outside the product description does not by itself qualify for a refund. Please review the product details and available previews, or ask a question before buying.
After a full refund, stop using and delete the refunded Materials and reusable copies, including client copies you supplied. You may retain your own data and static reports for recordkeeping. This policy does not limit any refund, repair, cancellation, or other rights that applicable law requires.
Compatibility, updates, and other sellers
Use the software and file format stated on the product page. We do not promise compatibility with every spreadsheet application or future software version. Future updates, new templates, and ongoing download access are included only when stated in the product description at purchase. Keep a backup of downloaded files.
If you buy through an authorized third-party seller or payment provider, its applicable payment and refund procedures also apply. Those procedures do not remove mandatory legal rights or the express commitments we make here.
5. AI assistance and development rights
You may use private AI assistance to understand, troubleshoot, or customize a purchased model for your licensed work. Use a service and settings that do not make Template Content public, share it with other customers, or use it to train or improve the provider's general models. Private project files and saved conversations for that permitted work are allowed.
A standard purchase does not authorize using Template Content to train or fine-tune AI or machine-learning models, create training or model-evaluation datasets, build a reusable template-retrieval service, or develop a competing automated financial-modeling or spreadsheet-generation product. Those uses require a separate written AI license and payment of any agreed license fee before the use begins.
This restriction concerns SmartHelping Template Content. It does not restrict your independently created data or content that does not reproduce that Template Content. For development or commercial AI licensing, contact SmartHelping .
6. Financial models and your decisions
The Materials are planning and analysis tools, not personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or lending advice. Buying a template does not create an advisory engagement.
Results depend on your inputs, assumptions, and circumstances. Review the calculations and outputs before relying on them, and obtain qualified advice when appropriate. We do not guarantee a valuation, investment return, financing approval, tax treatment, or business outcome.
7. Product commitments and warranty limits
The express delivery, correction, and refund commitments in these terms remain in effect. Subject to those commitments and rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude, the Site and Materials are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim other express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
We do not promise that every model will fit every business, operate without any error, or remain compatible with every future software release. These limits do not cancel the problem-resolution policy in Section 4.
8. Limits on liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, SmartHelping is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or business interruption arising from use of the Site or Materials.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability relating to an affected purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that purchase. For a bundle purchase, that limit is the price paid for the bundle.
These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or remedy that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. They do not reduce any express refund commitment in Section 4.
9. Responsible use of the website
Do not interfere with the Site, bypass access controls, obtain paid Materials without authorization, or use the Site or Materials unlawfully. Ordinary search-engine indexing and personal browsing assistance are allowed. Bulk harvesting of Template Content, unauthorized automated downloading of paid Materials, or collection for prohibited AI development requires separate written permission.
10. License violations and termination
We may terminate the affected license for a material breach of these terms. For a breach capable of correction, we will give written notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct it. We may act immediately to stop unauthorized resale, public distribution, prohibited AI development, fraud, or conduct that is unlawful or causes ongoing harm.
After termination, stop using the affected Materials and delete unauthorized reusable copies. Ownership, use restrictions, accrued obligations, liability limits, and dispute provisions continue as applicable. We may pursue remedies available under law for unauthorized use.
11. Governing law and disputes
Ohio law governs these terms, without applying conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory consumer protections and other nonwaivable rights, disputes will be heard in the state courts located in Lake County, Ohio, or the federal courts with jurisdiction over that county.
If something is wrong, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. Doing so is not a condition of exercising a nonwaivable legal right.
12. Changes and other agreements
We may update these terms for future purchases by posting a new effective date. Later changes do not retroactively reduce the rights granted with an earlier purchase. A separate signed agreement controls the specific matters it addresses.
These terms, the applicable product description and purchase terms presented at checkout, and any separate signed agreement form the agreement for your purchase. Product-specific promises made at purchase remain part of that agreement. General checkout notices do not override the express client-use permissions or problem-resolution policy in these terms. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Nothing here limits rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
